This means that a UX designer will ensure the product looks and behaves in a similar way to other websites, mobile apps or products from the same brand.
The human eye tends to simplify and organize complex images by grouping similar objects into cohesive systems. Gestalt principles, such as continuation, closure, proximity, figure/ground and symmetry and order, help us make sense of these complex patterns.
Ultimately, the best UX design principles come from the accumulated wisdom of professionals from various disciplines including psychology, sociology, physics and ergonomics. However, these principles are only effective if they’re applied with discretion and a thorough understanding of the product and its target audience.
