The much-anticipated fantasy film, Kanguva, featuring stars Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, is set to hit theatres on November 14. With the film’s advance bookings opening just recently, it has already achieved a remarkable response, raking in over Rs 2.2 crore gross in India, according to Sacnilk.com.
The Tamil 2D version has reportedly earned approximately Rs 42.7 lakh, while the 3D version saw over Rs 1 crore in ticket sales. The Telugu version also made an impression, with Rs 38.3 lakh in 2D and Rs 20.3 lakh in 3D. The Hindi versions are contributing as well, with the 2D earning ₹3 lakh and the 3D version reaching Rs 7.2 lakh.
So far, the highest advance bookings for Kanguva are coming from Tamil Nadu, where it has garnered approximately Rs 78.31 lakh. Kerala follows, with pre-sales amounting to Rs 43.5 lakh. The strong numbers are expected to continue as multiplex bookings become available, potentially outpacing Suriya’s last major release, Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which secured an advance booking figure of Rs 4.35 crore.

In Kanguva, Suriya is set to portray two intriguing roles – the titular warrior Kanguva, as well as a contemporary character, Francis Theodore. The film, teased as a tale of resurrection, has already intrigued fans with its trailer. Bobby Deol will appear as Udhiran, another warrior in the story, while Disha Patani plays Angelina, the love interest of Francis Theodore.
The movie will be available across theatres in multiple South Indian languages as well as Hindi, in both 2D and 3D formats. As Kanguva gears up for its release, the movie will face competition at the box office, with Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s Amaran.
