Filmmaker Atlee, who made his directorial debut in Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan and even produced Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John, is all set to bring on the big screens his next action drama. Tentatively titled AA22xA6, the movie stars Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. While fans have been excited about the movie and are waiting for more updates on it from the makers, it seems like they are gearing up for the early stages of the film’s shooting process.
Yes, you read that right! As reported by News18, Arjun is all set to begin preparation for the film. He will reportedly be undergoing a look-test for the upcoming high-octane commercial entertainer on June 11, i.e., today. Quoting a report by Mid-Day, the shoot of the film is scheduled to start from this Thursday. As per the media publication’s source, the shoot of the film will be eight hours long. The makers have also planned for a special announcement photo shoot tomorrow.

Shedding more light on the upcoming film, News18 quoted Mid-Day’s source saying, “This is one of India’s biggest productions right now, and Atlee wants to do this in the grandest possible way. The shoot begins on Thursday at the same location. The makers have tentatively titled it AA22xA6. They have put together the finest Hollywood technicians on this project. The team has already come to Mumbai.”
The source added that the shoot will start small with “some key sequences.” AA22xA6 will then be shot in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and several other locations. The details of the same are reportedly kept under wraps to avoid leaks from the set.

Last week, through a collaborative post on Instagram, Atlee announced that Deepika has been cast as the leading lady of the film. The post was captioned, “The Queen marches to conquer! Welcome onboard @deepikapadukone #TheFacesOfAA22xA6 #AA22xA6 – A Magnum Opus from Sun Pictures.”
Talking about the film, early rumours suggested that AA22xA6 might have a two-hero plot, however, the reports were dismissed by Allu Arjun’s team. They went on to reveal that he will be playing a dual role in the film. It was also reported that the film might star multiple actresses in important roles. With Deepika Padukone announced as the leading lady of the Atlee directorial, it will be interesting to see who else is cast in the movie. While the film is set to begin in mid-2025, the film will be getting its grand release in 2026.
