A Tesla owner’s espresso-fueled beach ride goes viral, earning a nod from Elon Musk and sparking fresh buzz around the company’s self-driving tech.

A Tesla owner recently went viral on X (formerly Twitter) after sharing a video of himself sipping espresso while his car drove him to the beach hands-free. “Never been more happy to drink my espresso,” Lucas Paturini posted, tagging @elonmusk and @Tesla. The Tesla CEO responded with trademark flair: “This is so cool. Make your espresso on the road while your Tesla drives itself”.
Pasturini also lauded the FSD feature on his Tesla vehicle. Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system is the company’s most advanced driver-assistance feature, allowing the car to steer, brake, accelerate and even navigate city streets with minimal human input.
The video garnered reactions from netizens, some of who suggested tips while some lauded the electronic car for its abilities. “I will allow the coffee pods for now, but when FSD is unsupervised please use a proper espresso machine without pods,” tweeted Cybertruck influencer Jeremy Judkins.

Another user said that the electronic car is an enabler of laziness. “Just more lazy enabling. I’m 72 and I see no real advantages to Tesla’s,” tweeted X user Bob Mitchell.
Meanwhile, Tesla chief Elon Musk said Tuesday the electric vehicle company’s sales are “doing well” following a slump after the world’s richest person drew backlash for helping US President Donald Trump slash the federal workforce.
He pointed to the performance of Tesla’s shares on Wall Street as a sign that the company was on good footing.
“We’re strong everywhere else. So sales are… doing well at this point,” Musk told the 2025 Qatar Economic Forum. “We’re now back over a trillion dollars in market cap, so clearly, the market is aware of the situation, so it’s already turned around.”
Tesla, which is the major source of Musk’s wealth, has suffered significant brand damage due to his political work, particularly with Trump. He has also expressed support for the far-right anti-immigration AfD party in Germany.
Since Trump took office, Tesla dealerships have become scenes of protest and vandalism in the United States and beyond.
When asked if he was worried about the effects of his political positions on sales at the electric carmaker, Musk hit back to say the company was doing fine.
Aside from a sales decline in Europe, “we’re strong everywhere else,” Musk said.
