Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been facing the disappointment of the audience over his recently released film Sikandar. The AR Murugadoss directorial has been receiving a lot of flak, amidst steady decline in its box office collections. Now, Gaiety Galaxy owner Manoj Desai, who has a long-standing relationship with the actor, has now also criticised the film. He opened up about the public’s opinion of the film and questioned why the makers decided to kill off Rashmika’s character so early in the film.
During a recent interaction, he opened up about the film and expressed how he has gotten reviews from the public. Recalling an interaction with trade analyst Komal Nahta, he told Desai, “Told me that, ‘What was the need to kill the heroine so early on in the film?’ ‘What complex did you have?’ And then, when you take the film forward, if you feel something isn’t right.” He went on to question why the real Salman Khan didn’t come forth in the film.

Quoted by News18, he adds, “I know you will feel bad because of my interview because I am your friend, and Gaiety Galaxy is your second home but I am telling what the public is telling me. I can’t lie because this is what public is saying.”
The AR Murugadoss directorial was one of the most anticipated films of Bollywood in 2025. Media reports suggest that it was extensively shot in Hyderabad and Mumbai, with a budget of Rs 200 crores. Released on March 30, 2025, Sikandar stars Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, and Sathyaraj among many others in pivotal roles.
