Filmmaker Karan Johar sparked speculation about whether cricket legend MS Dhoni is set to make his acting debut. On Tuesday (15 April 2025), Karan Johar posted a video on Instagram, introducing Dhoni as the “newest lover boy.”
Though he didn’t reveal specific project details, he shared a video featuring Dhoni. The clip opened with the text, “for the first time ever starring MS Dhoni in a romantic avatar,” showing the iconic cricketer strolling with a red heart balloon.
In the video, Dhoni says, “Tum jo saath chalti ho, harr safar khoonsurat banati ho,” and it concludes with the text, “a love story like no other coming soon.” Johar’s caption read, “Dramatic drumroll, please! Presenting MS Dhoni – our newest lover boy! But wait, Mahi’s love for his bike isn’t new. And now, thanks to Gulf Pride and Punit’s fabulous storytelling, the world finally gets a front-row seat to this blockbuster love affair! Pure cinematic magic!”
