The day has finally arrived! Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor and reality show star Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor is all set to make her much-awaited Bollywood debut with Santosh Singh directorial Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan trailer. All set for a release on July 11, she will be seen sharing screen space with Vikrant Massey. On Tuesday, the stars attended the trailer launch event of the film in Mumbai along with Sanjay and Maheep. Well, now that the trailer is here, it seems like Shanaya’s performance is all the netizens can talk about.
Since over the past few years, actors hailing from film families have failed to impress the audiences, many were surprised by her acting chops. Amidst chatter on how she might fare as an actress, it seems like she has impressed everyone quite a bit. As soon as the trailer was released on YouTube, fans rushed to the comment section to hail her and her chemistry with Vikrant. Many even gushed about Vishal Mishra giving his music to the film.

One wrote, “Vikrant is awesome… But I’ve seen the natural acting spark in shanaya also.” Another wrote, “I expected an Ananya 2.0. But Shanaya surprised me. Brilliant and excellent performance for a debutant. All her expressions are phenomenal. The time she gave herself for moulding into an actor and then debuting with a fantastic movie is something I respect a lot about Shanaya. She is completely different from Ananya, Khushi, Suhana and Rasha.” One said, “Shanaya surprising everyone with such good performance!”
During the trailer launch event, Shanaya expressed her gratitude for getting to be a part of the romantic drama. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, the 25-year-old actress said, “Kahaani bohot khoobsurat hai, aur mujhe bohot sikhne ko mila. Jabhi mein script padhti hoon, ek audience ke taur pe padhti hoon. During the narration, when I got the script and read it from the perspective of an audience, I could feel and understand the story — I learnt a lot.”

Kapoor went on to add that the film teaches one not to judge someone based on preconceived notions. She said, “From the generation I come from, hum social media par itne saare judgements dekhte hain; there are so many preconceived notions. This film teaches you not to judge someone before you get to know them — to love without your eyes, to feel the person and understand them. Saba (my character) is my best friend. She is my everything. Ek instant connection tha jab mein Saba se mili aur uske costume mein thi. It felt like it was meant to be.”
On the work front, Shanaya Kapoor will finally be making her Bollywood debut with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The film will be released in theatres on July 11, 2025. She will be next seen in Bejoy Nambiar’s survival thriller, Tu Yaa Main. The shooting of the film will start soon. She reportedly also has Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 3 web series in her pipeline. Directed by debutant Reema Maya, the show is said to consist of six episodes.
