Allu Arjun gas returned as Pushpa in Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film also starring Rashmika Mandana and Fahad Faisal mainly remains an Allu Arjun story. The film is heavy on needless action which may be appealing only to a specific set of fans. Watched amid actual audience, it became clear that the Hindi dub and the changes possibly made to appeal the Maharashtra audience, did not make a major impact. Many were seen leaving the theatre just before internal and more even after interval. The biggest enemy for Pushpa was the film’s run time.
Pushpa 2 begins with Allu Arjun’s introduction with a massive fight with some international thugs mainly only to add a dialogue in the film that Pushpa is now working on a global level. The rest of the film returns and stays mainly within the Asian continent. Back on despite all the money and respect he has earned, Pushpa is still having family troubles as his brothers won’t accept him.
Meanwhile, on his business end, there is no reason for him to keep going, and destroying forests but he continues to do so because his wife asked for a photo with the CM and the only way to do that is bribe the entire country into making his own man the CM. As much as the story and the writing doesn’t offer much to its logic and reasoning, neither does the action.

One fight sequence in the entire film shows him fighting a massive group of people with his hands and legs tied and he flies from person to person while biting their neck off like a vampire. The film attempts to glorify women by showing how much they are open about sex and violence, but only with the help of a man as the female characters don’t have much to do. And including a rape scene isn’t exactly the kind of screen time female actresses are looking for.
The screenplay attempts to be the story of man who was rejected by the family but accepted by the world. However, amid all the crime without reason, politics and killing with rage, the concept is lost. With the third part coming in, the concept of family and love will also be milked to its core, which will again loose its meaning to the story and its characters. The film was also expected to have more romance between the lead characters as it depicted their love life after marriage, but Rashmika steps into the frame only to make Allu Arjun look good.
The run time is mainly action for Allu Arjun, but he does get a few emotional scenes in which adds little meaning to his character. Mainly the scenes without dialogues work as the Hindi dub and the non Telugu regional accents don’t exactly fit in the film’s setting.

Overall, Pushpa 2: The Rule does not add anything new to the barrage of similar south characters, nor the action showcased by the entertainment industry. It will appeal to the fans of the actor and that may be a good enough reason to release the film.
