Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar recently announced their upcoming romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri. Set to release in 2026, the actor had posted a video announcement on all his social media platforms. As excitement to know more about the project is at an all time high, several media reports suggest that the makers are planning a special cameo in the film by the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani gang.
Yes, you read that right! According to a report by the Free Press Journal, actors Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Kalki Koechlin might be reviving their iconic characters for the upcoming rom-com. The report adds that Johar has been toying with the idea of the cameos as they want to explore cinematic crossovers. With fans thoroughly enjoying the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani re-release in theatres, it will surely be a treat for the fans to watch the gang on the big screen again.

Further in the report, it was also mentioned that actress Sharvari is expected to feature alongside Kartik in the film, as his leading lady. It is to be noted that, the makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the female lead and the special cameos of the film.
For those who missed it, the project is directed by Satyaprem Ki Katha director Sameer Vidwans, marking his second collaboration with the 34-year-old actor. The film was announced on December 25, 2024 in a collaborative post. Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri will also be considered as Kartik and Karan’s first collaboration.

Earlier, in 2019, they had announced that they will be working together on Dostana 2, a sequel to the director-producer’s hit film Dostana (2008). The movie also starred Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya.
However, as rumours about differences between the actor and Dharma Productions’ head honcho started making the headlines, the makers revealed that they would be recasting for the film. Kartik has proceeded to clear the air about his exit from the much-awaited film and revealed that the movie, which had begun shooting in late 2019, faced delays due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Opening up about their rumoured fallout, the Bhool Bhulaiya 3 actor dismissed the claims and revealed that he exited the project due to a 1.5-year gap and script changes.
On the work front, Kartik Aaryan was last seen on the big screen in Anees Bazmee directorial Bhool Bhulaiya 3 alongside Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit. He will be next seen in Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri and Aashiqui 3.
