Siddhant Chaturvedi recently revealed that he rejected a role in Dharma Production’s Brahmastra and it for that he was blacklisted from being cast. The actor made his big screen debut with Gully Boy alongside Ranveer Singh and received quite the love and appreciation for his work. He was recently seen in the OTT release Kho Gaya Hum Kaha alongside Adarsh Gaurav and Ananya Panday.
On the other hand, Brahmastra directed by Ayan Mukerji was led by Ranbir Kapoor alongside Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Nagarjuna Akkineni among many others. The film went on to become a hit thanks to its massive release which was widely appreciated for its VFX.
During an interview The Lallantop, Siddhant revealed that he talked to the makers for one of the characters in Brahmastra without any script or actual audition. Recalling how the project was described at the time, he added, “Ek ashram hai, usme one of the superhero’s ka kirdar mila tha mujhe. So they said I should do it and it’s a VFX-heavy project and it will take 5 years to make.”
He revealed that the role was for a superhero in the film’s ashram. Siddhant reportedly asked for a script to understand the role better but he was told that there is not script at the moment as the project is in its initial stages. He was quoted saying, “They said that it is a 3-film lock-in. I was not able to understand what to do and there were long lines of audition for that role.”

Chaturvedi revealed that in the end he denied the role and it ended with him being blacklisted from the casting circuit. He explained, “Badnaam ho gaya tha main casting circuit mein ki ye select ho ke na bol deta hai. They would think ‘Hai kaun bhai tu? Arrogant hai, cocky hai’…Kuch ye mad belief lagta hai ye.”
He added, “Thankfully that film took a lot of time to make. By then Gully Boy had come. I think that character (in Brahmastra) they edited out. It wasn’t in the film. In a way, whatever happened, happened for good,” he added.
