After years after the show debuted on Netflix, Sweet Home has ended with season 3. The show’s first season followed the webtoon it was based on, however, the follow-up seasons followed an original story with new characters and different plotlines. However, despite the original story and new characters, the makers had to wrap up the show with season 3’s eight episodes. There was much to wrap up and for half of the final season, Cha Hyun-su can be seen struggling with himself.

He does manage to take control of his mind and body once again and reunites with Eun-hyeo now a neo human. Both wish to take down the MHs who are against the evolution and survival of humans. While they arrive late and aren’t able to stop Sang-won from taking over Seo Yi-su’s body, the final battle royal does end with him leaving her body and being taken down by his own body aka Pyeon Sang Wook. With the end of the battle, Cha Hyun-su and Eun-hyeo decide to go their own ways.
Eun-hyeo joins his own kind neo humans but Cha Hyun-su returns to the stadium. With the special infectees all taken down the survivors are escorted out of the stadium to a closer safe place. The remaining Crow Paltoon search the rest of the Stadium and bring back as many survivors as possible. With Cha Hyun-su’s help, humanity gets a better chance as he can turn monsters back into humans. He also brings back more survivors from the stadium aka people who were previously monsters.

When the survivors migrate for a better place to live, they end up crossing paths with neo-humans. As suggested by Eun-hyeo, everyone decides it is time for humans and neo-humans to coexist. During the finale moments of the show, Cha Hyun-su can be heard narrating how the two groups found it hard to accept each other but slowly began to work together to build a new world.
Cha Hyun-su finally succeeds in building a better world for humans and the evolved monsters. However, things aren’t all good yet. Before the big battle, Lee Eun-yu leaves as she too is going through monsterization. While she isn’t dead or turned into a monster, she goes through a complete transformation and turns into a neo-human void of her emotions. However, there is still hope as the final scene also shows Eun-hyeo a neo-human smiling. It hints at neo-humans being able to find their emotions back but with time and supportive environment.

The show ends with a happy ending for the three main characters from the Green House in season 1. Cha Hyun-su, Eun-hyeo and Eun-yun all three can be seen reunited on the rooftop of Green house and being patient with each other slowly returning back to their usual life. Their clothes, make up and costumes are also similar to those in early episodes of season 1, hinting at a more simpler times.
Fans worried about Yi-su are also given their happy moment. One scene shows an older girl laughing next to humanised Yeong-su, who seems to have been saved from his green slime monster form by Cha Hyun-su. The scene emphasises the inked line on her hand confirming Yi-su did not die at the end of the battle.
