Urvashi Rautela claims her luxury suitcase, containing jewelry worth Rs. 70 lakh, was stolen at London’s Gatwick Airport. She was in the city for Wimbledon when her bag disappeared from the luggage belt. Despite her efforts, the bag could not be found.
“As a Platinum Emirates Member and a global artist attending Wimbledon, I am deeply disheartened to report that our Christian Dior brown baggage was stolen from the baggage belt at London Gatwick Airport, following our Emirates flight from Mumbai. Despite holding our baggage tag and ticket, the bag went missing directly from the belt area—an alarming breach of airport security. This matter is not only about a lost bag—it’s about accountability, safety, and dignity for all travelers,” Urvashi said in a statement shared by her team. She reached out to Emirates support and Gatwick Airport officials, but received no assistance.
Urvashi is known for her background in beauty pageants and has starred in Bollywood films like Singh Saab the Great, Sanam Re, Great Grand Masti, and Hate Story 4. She has also gained popularity through music videos such as Love Dose and Bijli Ki Taar. Her charitable work, including running the Urvashi Rautela Foundation to support underprivileged people and backing organizations like PETA India, has been praised. Her appearances at events like Cannes Film Festival often make headlines.
Earlier this month, Urvashi’s mother, Meera Rautela, accused the actress’s former manager, Vedika Prakash Shetty, of theft. Meera claimed Shetty worked with Urvashi from 2015 to 2017 and “engaged in multiple acts of theft and deceit” during that time.
“Vedika Prakash Shetty was employed as a 24/7 executive assistant to my daughter during 2015-2017. She was hired to assist Urvashi during her reign after returning from Miss Universe in Las Vegas and subsequently during the handover of Miss Universe India crown in 2016. At this time, she was entrusted with various responsibilities, starting from Urvashi’s wardrobe, heavy gowns and personal belongings. However, soon we realised that she had engaged in multiple acts of theft and deceit which caused a great deal of financial loss to the family,” Meera stated.
