Laxman Utekar directorial Chhaava has been taking the box office by storm ever since it was released on February 14, 2025, on the occasion of Valentines Day. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles, the film is receiving a great response from the critics as well as the audiences. For the past two days, the former has been taking to his official social media handle to express his gratitude towards his fans.
A few hours ago, the 36-year-old actor took to his Instagram and shared a video of his young fan. Having watched the film, the kid is seen crying inconsolably as he chants something with his hand over his heart. Posting the emotional video on his Instagram, he expressed how he wanted to give the child a hug in the caption.

He wrote, “Hamari sabse badi kamaai! (written in Hindi) Proud of you beta… wish I could give you a hug. Thank you everyone for your love and emotions. We wished for Shambhu Raaje’s story to reach every household in the world… and to see that happening is our greatest victory. #CHHAAVA IN CINEMAS.”
For those who haven’t watched the film, the last 45 minutes of Chhaava have been leaving the audiences teary-eyed. It focuses on Aurangzeb’s brutal execution of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Chhaava has reportedly collected Rs 116 crore over the weekend. It opened with an earning of Rs 31 crore at the box office and went on to mint Rs 37 crore on Saturday. The film’s earnings saw a huge jump on Sunday as it earned Rs 48.50 crore. Not only has Chhaava given Vicky his biggest opening weekend collection of his career, but also earned more than the lifetime collection of Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya starrer Sky Force. If media reports are to be believed, the movie is expected to cross the Rs 150 crore mark by the end of this week.

An adaptation of Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel of the same name, Chhaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. While Vicky Kaushal essays the titular role, Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Maharani Yesubai Bhonsle and Akshaye Khanna essays the role of Mughal Shahenshah Aurangzeb. The movie also stars Diana Penty, Divya Dutta, Ashutosh Rana, and Vineet Kumar Singh among others in pivotal roles. The film was released on February 14, 2025.
