The new movie Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao & Triptii Dimri and directed by Raaj Shaandilya, has been panned for cheap jokes. However, the movie has managed to perform decently at the box office compared to Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s Jigra. On its opening weekend, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has managed to earn Rs. 18.65 crore.
Also, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, Alia Bhatt and Vasan Bala’s Jigra collected Rs. 16.8 crore over the weekend. Bala’s Jigra had a slow start, earning Rs. 4.55 crore on Day 1, followed by a promising growth of 43.96 percent on Saturday. However, the Sunday collection is at about Rs. 5.7 crore.

While it has overtaken Jigra, the movie saw a slight dip in its numbers on Sunday. On Saturday, the Rajkummar Rao movie earned Rs. 6.90 crores. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, on Sunday it earned Rs. 6.25 crore, as per early estimates. Its Hindi occupancy was 21.08 percent. With just 18 shows, Chennai had the highest occupancy of 79.75 percent. With 1017 shows, Delhi NCR had an occupancy of 19.75 percent, while Mumbai occupancy was 24.50 with 583 shows.

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 was the highest grossing Hindi film ever, while Triptii Dimri’s previous film Bad Newzz tanked at the box office.
Also, what added to problems for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video was when the makers were called out for unauthorized use of Stree references in the movie. Following the backlash, Raaj Shaandilya issued a public apology to Maddock Films, saying that a rectified version of the movie will re-release in theaters on Tuesday, 15 October.
